Is it odd...?

Is it odd that...

*I work at a specialty chocolate shop, which I am typically a sugar lover, yet I am more excited to drink my latte than eat any of the goodies?
*I have the most motivation to cook or bake something at 11 in the morning, or 9 in the evening, and typically only those times?
*I don't mind crossing the border everyday in Washington to work because everything is more familiar, it's more like home?
*I have all of these goals and dreams that will take years to attain, yet that doesn't stress me out or feel defeated since I know things take time?
*I would love to be a teacher of 1st graders, a motivational speaker, a worship leader, own a coffee shop/bookstore with my Mom, work in a gym as a fitness coach, be a stay-at-home Mom/wife, and start a non-profit organization that works with kids/teens that struggle with self-esteem/ anxiety/eating disorders, yet I am going to school to be a youth worker?
*I feel better drinking a latte with half non-fat half 2% milk than drinking one with full 2%?
*I wear flats more in the winter than boots, and my toes freeze to the core, yet I still continue to do it?
*I would rather have a cute outfit that is put together well and be cold, than wear a jacket that may not match 100% and stay warm?
*I have to write lists of things to get done, yet if I don't complete them, I put them on the next list and move on?
*I write lists, yet still forget to do certain things that are important?
*I love going to school and learning, yet loath the homework I have instead of looking at it as more time to learn?
*I can't get off the phone without saying I love you to the ones I am closest to?

Ya know, I could come up with many more things, but I would love to hear some of yours:)

Quick Update

Not a whole lot to say other than the fact that Alex is graduating from bootcamp tomorrow and Friday! YAY! Praise God! He has been living in Georgia for the last two months going through INTENSE training with the Army and he has completed it! So proud of him. Mom, Dad, and Josh are flying out there right now as I type to visit them and I'm excited to see Alex when he gets home. Work, and money (or lack there of) kept me from joining them. Other than that exciting news, Jason and I just enjoying a weekend with Jeremy, Emily and baby Connor, Jason's brother and his wife. I just love to call them family:) Haven't got any new pics to put up but life has been wonderful and we have been very busy! Our home is decorated for fall and I just love it:) Jason would probably be fine without it, but for me, it makes home feel like HOME. We're gearing up for the rest of the semester of school for Jase, and then a crazy busy few weeks at the Chocolate shop being that Christmas is the season for yummy chocolate and fudge! I really do enjoy my job:) By the way, I didn't use that chicken recipe above, but it sure looks yummy! One of these days:)

Hope you are all enjoying the fall-almost winter weather. Loving life:)

God Bless!

My Momma would be proud

This evening after watching one of our favorite shows Numb3ers, I remembered I hadn't made that yummy pumpkin bread I had planned on baking earlier today. So I started backing at 8:00 pm. Definately am enjoying the fresh scent of this soon-to-be done bread. Anyway, I wanted to blog because I am just so proud of myself and how I am becoming quite the little homemaker and I love every moment of it! I'm already looking forward to the next place we will call home so that I can decorate more, since we won't be in that transition mode, hopefully. So, not much being said here today other than the fact that I love my kitchen aide, especially since it's lime green! Thanks Aunt Trudy and Andrea! Also, I've REALLY enjoying the saying you have ALWAYS said to me, "If you can read, you can cook!" That has given me much confidence to try new things, and there are a bazillion more ways to cook chicken...beef...or pumpkin bread and I'm excited to try some of them:) Basically, what sums up today, is the fact that I am LOVING life. God is using me in a fresh and new way and I am loving every moment of it. Marriage is such a gift, and I praise God for the gift I get to wake up next to every single morning.

Love and hugs,

The little newlywed

Wanna try and make this yummy thing? Click on my title and that will send you to the recipe:)

Chai Tea

These past few days have kept me at home suffering from something I like to call, a yucky little cold. This has also given me the opportunity to sit back and enjoy every moment with my husband:) He has treated me like such a princess and I praise God for him. I just thought it was time for a little updating on this here blog:) I hadn't really edited it since my freshman year of school. Yikes! That's almost four years ago! So, it was time. Life has been so new, exciting, and challenging lately. Change can do that. I've been working at the cutest little chocolate shop and really enjoy it. I've become even more of a fan of Chai Latte's than ever:) They have always been my favorite, but there's something about leaning against the counter at work, holding a warm cup of Chai in my hand while looking out the window at the crisp fall weather. I just love it! I would have to admit though, there is something about those Chai Latte's from City Blends, and I haven't found a place that makes them the same! Even I can't make them as good:) I hope you find yourself enjoying the beautiful fall weather and sitting down at the end of the day to enjoy a nice chai latte.

Blessings and love

Marriage is an adventure:)

Time has just FLOWN by since my last posting, my goodness! There are many pictures on my facebook account from the wedding and honeymoon, so those of you that have facebook are more than welcome to see those pictures! If not, well I will post some pictures on here soon. The wedding went wonderful but there is SO much to explain, and lots to tell! The honeymoon was incredible and moving into our new home was such a blast. Lots of work went into all of these things but they all turned out great in their own special days;) Our wedding day was incredibly beautiful and such a blast, just different than we had expected;) The morning of the wedding we got a call from Deepwood saying there was 70% chance or rain, so they wanted to set up the reception under the tent. Little did they know we would be moving everything under the tent for the ceremony as well. Rain began to POUR about ten minutes before the ceremony was supposed to start, so we had to make some drastic changes. Everything felt extremely chaotic to me at times, but so much fun others. We were so blessed to have all the people we loved under one tent. Thank you to all of you that came and celebrated with us!

We have now settled into the home and are loving this new world. It's just so fun being a wife. Dinners are fun to make, and cleaning...well...I enjoy it...when I'm not working. I've started working at Lynden Chocolates, an adorable little specialty chocolate shop across the border in Washington. It's such a fun place to work! Learning to make coffees and milkshakes and then the difference between an english toffee truffle and a turtle is such blast! It's a good thing the novelty of the chocolate has worn off! I just enjoy my morning coffee:) I am really enjoying working with people and getting to know them! Jason has started school again full time and I am going part time, it's nice to have a schedule!

Hope you are doing wonderful! Would love to hear from you!

Love is in the air!

Well, I would have to say all that I think about is my WEDDING! HONEYMOON! NEW HOME! NEW LIFE! People have been asking me if I have had a hard time being away from Jason, and honestly yes, it is difficult to be away from him. Yet knowing that I am going to be his bride in about six weeks makes the wait just that much more worth it. We both are keeping extremely busy with work and preparing the wedding, or our life up in BC in Jason's case. I am truly enjoying the time I am spending with my family, for all of you know how much they mean to me. This time at home has been such a precious gift and I will cherish this summer for my life! God has blessed me with the most incredible family. Thank you Lord!

I have been spending some hours here and there, wish it could be more, yet then again I am very thankful for the time I am not working, at Craft Warehouse! It has been definately a new thing for me, and for the first time in a long time I am...well...having to allow time for friendships to begin. Normally I can come into a place and immediately make some type of connection with people. Everyone there is really nice, just took a bit to be able to be myself with my co-workers. I am now enjoying work a lot more and honestly I love every one of the regulars that come in that store! Let me tell you, there are a lot of regulars:) It's been really nice getting sweet ideas for my wedding being surrounded by lots of incredible things! Hard to save money in a place full of my hobbies!

That's all for today's update. Jason was here last weekend and it was amazing! Loved spending time with him:) We spent Sunday picking out our wedding bands and finding the right tuxes and he's gonna be a stud! :) Like usual of course:)

I am just loving the place I am in life. Now I just need to find a good job once I get back to school in the fall, def keep that in your prayers!

Have a wonderful Memorial Weekend! It's my 21st b-day this next week, crazy how time flies! It's def not the same celebrating my birthday without some of my closest friends that are all across the country...yet I am blessed to spend such precious time with my family. I love them! Alex gets to be home with us and that is such a blessing as well! We will cherish EVERY moment we have with him before he heads out on his next adventure.

Christ's love

Quick Update...

Well, since I am trying to keep this thing going and really get into the world of blogging, I am going to update! It's already past time. Lately I have just been getting the wedding invitations put together and that is quite the job! My Mom has been an incredible help and Cyndi (Mother-in-love)REALLY helped us with getting everything started. Thank you Cyndi:) Hopefully they will be ready to be sent out on Thursday! That's our goal...and I would like to meet it! The rest of the wedding plans are coming together really well:) Just so much fun! I've definately got more than enough to do before the big day, and in a way it's a little stressful! But I know it will all be done.
I did get a job at Craft Warehouse! YAY! I start this week, and am hoping I will learn everything quickly. I will only be working there for a short time of course, but it is a true blessing to have even gotten the job. Thank you Lord!
Today I had my final fitting and got to take home my wedding gown! I just LOVE it:) Can't wait to wear it!
Well, this is it for my quick little update. Jason and I are both really looking forward to all the wonderful things that are coming up! God is so good:) We feel so blessed with a wonderful place to move into in August. Our first home!! Jason has an amazing job for the summer, so he is really looking forward to getting that going. We are also heading to Hilton Head Island (I think that's the area) for our honeymoon. We are in a condo for the week and then spending two nights in Savannah Georgia at the Hamilton-Turner Inn. Check it out! It's incredible! So everything is coming together beautifully and I am SO excited to see everything play out:)

Hope all is well with you and I would love to hear from you!

This is for you Chris!

I was just reading through someone's blog and they had repeatedly apologized for the lack of blogging. Well, here I go....I'M SORRY! There is so much to update on this blog that it's just absolutely ridiculous that I even have one! Don't people with blogs update them? At least once every couple of weeks? So here's for a toast-to blogging, it's time to enjoy the point of you in the first place and I'm going to use you more and more and more and more. It's important to me that you all know what's going on in my life and well, soon this will no longer be the sweet life of Britt, its going to be the sweet life of Jase and Brit! Actually, for some odd reason he thinks this is a lame title. Made sense when I was a freshman in college:) But I would agree, it's time for a change! Especially if I will be actually using this wonderful resource!

So, here it goes!

Life is WONDERFUL! Everything that I have dreamed of over the last ten years of my life seems to be coming true. God, you are so good:) The last blog that I had was pictures of Jason and I. At that time, we were just friends getting to know each other, and well, falling in love. God has written our story out so beautifully and perfect for me, and I praise Him for it daily! Over the summer we spent a lot of time talking on the phone and traveling back and forth from Canada to Oregon to spend a few precious hours together. We had made our relationship official for those who desired a label for the two of us, and well, for myself! It was killing me that I couldn't call Jason, mine. After coming back to school in September, it was amazing to be able to be closer together again and in January we got engaged! January 1st to be exact:) I'll have to post the story of our engagement on here too. Jason did an amazing job making me feel like a princess that's for sure! And it even matches the ring he got me:) After the excitement of being newly engaged settled, we began our planning of the special day. It's coming together SO beautifully and the day is going to be one more dream come true. We look forward to standing in front of our God and those whom we really love and cherish and making the commitment to honor and cherish each other for the rest of our lives. Only three months to go! Next year we will be living here in Abbotsford finishing up our final times at CBC and just growing together as a couple. I'm so excited to turn that blessing of a condo into our own little home. Yay:)

As for this summer, Jason will be staying here in BC working and spending time with his friends and family, as well as gearing up to be a husband! It'll be really nice for him to be able to take a break from school and just spend time with the friends that he can't see as much during the school year. I will be going back home to Oregon and spending that time with my family, just soaking in those last few months as a single girl (not single, but you know what I mean) It's going to be such a blessing being close to my family every day, for they are truly amazing people and I love them so much! God has truly blessed Jason and I both with amazing families. Next year Jason will be back in school full time and I will be working and taking a few classes as well. In about two years we'll both be finished with school and heading into whatever God has for us!

Right now I am studying for my last final tomorrow (environmental issues) and just packing up this adorable little basement suite. It's been so awesome living with my best friend Nikki. We've honestly had such a blast and we look forward to being each others maid-of-honor's!

God is so good and I hope that you are taking a moment each day to thank him for what he has given you and the incredible earth that we live in. Don't you just love seeing all these flowers coming out?!

There you go Chris:)
